Although our house is located in the heart of nature, less than an hour’s drive away you can enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches on the Galician coast.
Thanks to its proximity to Santiago de Compostela, from Vila de Cruces you can easily access both the Ría de Muros e Noia and the Ría de Arousa, two areas known for their extensive sandy beaches, calm waters, and spectacular landscapes.

Aguieira Beach (Porto do Son)
One of the largest and most beautiful beaches in the area.
It features more than one kilometer of fine sand, natural dunes, and a pine forest that provides shade during the hottest days.
It’s an ideal beach for:
- spending the day
- swimming peacefully
- walking along the shore
- enjoying a sunset facing the Atlantic
It also has services, nearby restaurants, and a perfect promenade for an evening walk.

Louro Beach (Muros)
One of the most spectacular beaches on the Galician coast.
It sits at the foot of Monte Louro, creating a unique landscape where the sea, mountain, and dunes blend in a stunning natural setting.
It’s a beach highly appreciated by:
- nature lovers
- photographers
- people seeking less urbanized beaches
It’s also a fantastic place to watch the sunset over the Atlantic.
Approximate distance: 1 hour.
Esteiro Beach (Muros)
A very pleasant and easily accessible beach, perfect for spending a peaceful day.
It has around 500 meters of fine sand and generally calm waters thanks to the protection of the ría.
Highly recommended for:
- families
- swimming peacefully
- practicing paddle surfing or kayaking
In the surrounding area there are several bars and restaurants where you can try seafood or fresh fish.
Approximate distance: 50 minutes.
Tanxil Beach (Rianxo)
A smaller but very pleasant beach located in the Ría de Arousa.
It’s surrounded by trees that provide natural shade, making it especially comfortable for spending several hours.
It’s a perfect option if you’re looking for a quiet beach, less crowded than other better-known ones.
Approximate distance: 50 minutes.

Many people who stay at O Cruceiro de Aguiar combine the tranquility of the countryside with a day trip to the sea.
In the morning you can enjoy the natural surroundings of Vila de Cruces and in the afternoon discover one of the beaches of the Galician rías.
